- 1 Head of Cabbage
- 1 Pound of Ground Beef
- Garlic Powder to taste
- 1 Egg
- 1 C Cooked White Rice
- 12 fl oz Tomato Juice
- 1 T Vinegar
- 1 T White Sugar
- Place the head of cabbage in a large pot over high heat and add water to cover. Boil cabbage for 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and allow to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, mix the beef, rice, garlic powder and the egg.
- Place a small amount of the mixture, about 1/2 cup, into the center of a cabbage leaf and fold leaf over, tucking in the sides of the leaf to keep meat mixture inside.
- Put the stuffed leaves in a large pot (large ones on the bottom).
- Add tomato juice, vinegar and sugar and enough water to cover. Simmer over medium low heat for about an hour. Keep an eye on them, making sure the bottom of leaves do not burn.
